KSeF and mObywatel: Logging into the system just got easier

19 lutego 2026

On February 14, 2026, KSeF was integrated with the National Electronic Identification Node. From that moment, you can access the system the same way as other public e-services—through mObywatel, mojeID, or e-ID. What exactly has changed and what does it mean for businesses?

Login issues after KSeF launch

KSeF launched on February 1, 2026. The first few days brought significant turbulence—many users encountered login difficulties and temporary Trusted Profile outages. The Minister of Finance publicly apologized for the inconvenience. The system stabilized, but the problem with overloading a single entry gateway was evident.

One solution turned out to be integration with the National Electronic Identification Node—a system that handles login for many Polish public e-services. Originally planned for later, the government accelerated the work to relieve pressure on Trusted Profile.

What is the National Node?

The National Electronic Identification Node (KWIE) is a government platform operating at login.gov.pl. It works as a distributor: it accepts users with their chosen login method, verifies identity, and passes them to the target service. This allows various public services—instead of building their own login systems—to use one common infrastructure. It's the same mechanism that serves ePUAP and biznes.gov.pl, among others. KSeF integration with KWIE was created in cooperation with the Central IT Center.

What login methods are now available?

Since February 14, 2026, you can log into KSeF using four methods available through login.gov.pl:

  • mObywatel — mobile app
  • mojeID — login via electronic banking
  • e-ID — with electronic layer (chip in ID card)
  • Trusted Profile — still available, now handled through the Node

All four methods are free of charge.

Besides these, you can also authenticate to KSeF using methods not related to the National Node:

  • KSeF Certificate — free, issued by the Ministry of Finance, mainly intended for integration with invoicing software
  • Qualified electronic signature — paid (approx. 200–400 PLN), for those who have it
  • Qualified electronic seal — paid (approx. 1500 PLN), solution for larger companies

How to log in via mObywatel? Step by step

The process is intuitive and takes just a moment:

  1. Go to the KSeF website and select login via login.gov.pl
  2. Choose mObywatel as your authentication method
  3. Scan the QR code displayed on screen using the mObywatel app
  4. Confirm data sharing — and you're in the system

The Ministry of Finance emphasizes: no additional authorization tools are needed. Just have mObywatel on your phone.

Who does KSeF affect and when?

The obligation to receive e-invoices in KSeF applies to all businesses—already now, from February 2026.

The obligation to issue invoices through KSeF is being implemented in stages:

Date Who it affects
from February 1, 2026 Companies with turnover above 200 million PLN in 2024
from April 1, 2026 Other companies (except the smallest)
from early 2027 Micro-enterprises issuing invoices below 10,000 PLN gross per month

Summary

Integrating KSeF with the National Node is a concrete improvement that some businesses will feel immediately. Instead of struggling with Trusted Profile during peak hours, you can now access the system via mObywatel—efficiently and securely. All four methods through login.gov.pl are free of charge.
